Christus St. Patrick Hospitals Surgical Services team utilizes state-of-the-art minimally invasive technology to provide innovative surgery procedures, including heartburn surgery, neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery, and sinus surgery . The urology surgery department introduced the region's first robotic assisted surgery system for the surgical treatment of prostate cancer. The Surgical Tech (ST) is a vital part of an interdisciplinary team and is responsible for providing direct assistance to physicians performing surgical procedures while ensuring compliance with sterile technique. The ST is qualified to provide high quality scrubbing techniques while constantly monitoring for breaks in sterile technique. Under the supervision of the OR Manager/Charge Nurse/Director of Surgical Services the ST also assists with providing individualized patient care during the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative periods by providing direct assistance to surgeons, nurses, anesthetist, and anesthesiologist. This position requires the full understanding and active parti cipation in fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS Health St. Patrick Hospital, and demonstrating behavior consistent with the Core Values.
Requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) vs. Documentation of graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology school
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
1 year surgical technology experience preferred
Current BLS preferred
