You take responsibility for your work and are proud to be the voice and face of the school.

The Reception area is yours to oversee and whether you have one or ten visitors at your desk or on the phone, you manage them all professionally and with a smile. You are flexible, open to learning new ways of working and sharing ideas with the rest of the receptionist and security team. You are known for being consistent and dependable.

In addition you;

  • Understand office management; handling telephone calls, email queries, post, fax machine, managing visitors and sourcing answers and,
  • Have technology skills and see IT as an enabler for you; experience with Apple Mac is preferred,
  • Have excellent organizational skills, are detail oriented and can manage a range of tasks while keeping the overview of the reception area.

The Role: You’ll be located on the main campus which is open all week from 07:00 - 20:00 and during saturday. Reception services are on weekdays and are divided into a morning shift from 7:30 -12:30 and an afternoon shift from 12:30 to 17:30. You will work as part of a team of three receptionists who cover the week and provide cover for each other in the case of holidays or illness, whenever possible. This position reports to the Facilities Manager and you will work both independently and in close cooperation with the Facilities Manager, your colleagues in reception, our security team and the school administration. The Work: As the face of the school, you’ll be responsible for welcoming everyone as they enter. You’ll greet visitors, connect them with the person they are meeting and prepare them for their visit to the school, particularly if this is their first visit. You will share our security procedures by asking for their photo ID and providing them with an ASH ID badge. Your warm and helpful manner is no less when you are saying goodbye. Answering calls, greeting guests, assisting staff, parents and students with queries, and maintaining the reception area are all part of your day. Helping our security team by following procedures; monitoring the visitor register, issuing ID badges and informing security of anything unusual is part of your role.
