Carla’s Fresh Market launched as an online shop offering elevated pantry staples and curated gift boxes featuring small-batch food makers producing high-quality goods. Coming soon to North East L.A is the brick and mortar location. This well-appointed and highly-curated store will carry a mix of fresh produce, meat and dairy products primarily sourced from right here in California, delicious and healthy grab-n-go meals prepared by L.A.’s most exciting food makers, and a beer & wine section. Our mission is to create a vibrant shopping experience centered around quality food that is always delicious, fresh, and mostly local.

What You Will Do:
- Be an advocate for the company's mission and familiarize yourself with our products, promotions, etc. Provide customers with product knowledge, recommendations, and answer customer inquiries about ingredients, allergens, food pairings, etc.
- Make and serve a selection of delicious beverages with a variety of different brewing and preparation methods while maintaining high productivity levels.Follow a recipe to prepare syrups, concentrates, etc.
- Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized shopping environment, Ensure a fresh and appealing service counter.. Maintain back stock in good order.
- Answer the telephone, perform all cash register functions, package food and beverages for sale and address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner.
- Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practices. Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner.
- Perform all other departmental duties as assigned by management.
What You Will Bring:
- Be at least 18 years of age and have 1-2 years of customer service experience preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Love food. Love learning about food, talking about food and connecting with new people about food. Have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude and the ability to interact with our customers in an authentic way.
- Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes; including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Have good communication skills; the ability to take direction/constructive criticism and participate in a team environment.
- Be able to perform repetitive activities, and have the ability to multitask, prioritize and stay organized.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unaided, exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting.
- Proficiency in dual language: Spanish/English preferred.
