OCHSNER HEALTH SYSTEM in NEW ORLEANS is searching for a BC/BE CARDIAC ANESTHESIOLOGIST, with a strong interest in academics and research. The position includes performing anesthesia for the entire spectrum of adult cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, including heart transplants, lung transplants, LVADs, valve repair, valve replacement, CABG, aortic surgery, percutaneous aortic valve replacement, etc. Qualified candidates will be fellowship trained in cardiac anesthesiology, and must maintain active NBE Advanced PTE certification. Ochsner has excellent TAVR, Thoracic Transplant, and Heart Failure Pro grams, and ranks among the top U.S. Centers for length of stay for TAVR cases. We are a teaching program, with a fully accredited residency program, as well as an adult cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellowship program, that trains 2 fellows per/year. The Department of Anesthesiology includes 70 anesthesiologists, 100 CRNA’s, and >30 house staff, with an annual case volume of >52,000.
