Purpose of the internship
Social media is vital for AkzoNobel. From a nice to have, it turned into one of the strongest channels to share the stories of AkzoNobel; both through our owned channels and also via employee advocacy.
Reporting to the Director of Global Communication Services and working together with Social Media Manager, this role offers a chance to experience how reputation management is done via social media and the possibility to actively be involved in the strategy behind it, the overall planning and management of AkzoNobel’s social media channels and supporting the media relations team. This role focuses on optimizing our digital communications to engage our key stakeholders in the best possible way to build the reputation of AkzoNobel.
You'll be working within the digital communications team and the media & public relations team, which focuses on building, promoting and protecting AkzoNobel's reputation through traditional and new (social) media in cooperation with communication managers from the businesses and regions.
Responsibilities:
- Support the social media manager in planning and execution of content for external channels.
- Maintaining and optimizing our content management tool (Sprinklr)
- Developing and managing our content calendar (Trello)
- Take part in brainstorming sessions for new content and campaigns
- Creating and editing images and video content for social media
- Support with Community management and social media listening
- Support with monitoring, tracking, and reporting on (social) media metrics (Using Sprinklr and Meltwater).
- To keep a close eye on digital trends and competition to translate this to innovative concepts for our channels.
What do you bring?
- Educational background / High level of interest in digital strategy, content strategy, communications, and media relations.
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s/master’s degree in communications, marketing, or similar.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and other visual editing tools is a plus.
- Experience with content management and monitoring tools such as Sprinklr and Meltwater is a plus.
- Eagerness to learn planning and project management skills.
- Eagerness to work with data, analyze data and pull-out insights.
- Excellent verbal, writing, designing, and planning skills.
- Knowledge and curiosity to all matters related to digital/technology and social media trends is a plus.
- Fluent in English.
- Creative thinker.
- Service-minded and proactive.
