J.P. Morgan Bank Luxembourg SA acts as depositary to a broad range of investment vehicles across numerous client segments. The role of a depositary is to protect the interests of the shareholders and safeguard the fund's assets in accordance with EU Regulations and the requirements of the CSSF.

Job summery

Reporting to the Depositary Alternatives Vice President the successful candidate will be responsible for the operational execution of key depositary oversight functions for private asset funds, managing business risks and developing key client and partner relationships. The role will require a good working knowledge of technical and regulatory requirements applicable to private asset funds and alternative products.

This position is an opportunity for a suitable experienced candidate to gain exposure to all areas of the funds' industry including regulatory, legal, compliance, accounting, transfer agency services, custody, collateral management, and risk management.

Job responsibilities
  • Execute and manage the completion of Alternative fund depositary checks across a portfolio of clients including risk assessments, assessing and understanding fund structure charts, asset verification, investment compliance, cash monitoring and other oversight functions.
  • Managing client deliverables and ensuring accurate reporting to clients, our other partners and stakeholders.
  • Participating in and being actively engaged in the day to day and strategic oversight programmes.
  • Ensure the Luxembourg Depositary Bank is at all times compliant with applicable laws and regulations.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of the alternatives fund requirements preferably in depositary, regulatory or compliance role.
  • Knowledge of Luxembourg private equity, real estate, infrastructure and illiquid asset depositary requirements.
  • Understanding of the Depositary roles and responsibilities under European and Luxembourg laws and regulations.
  • Professional judgement, strong communication and networking skills.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Broad commercial expertise combined with a background and experience of contractual and related legal processes.
  • Strong analytical skills to review evolving market practices, assess oversight metrics and results, and identify trends.
  • High emotional intelligence, with sound networking and influencing skills to help the Depositary team be effective.
  • Excellent English language skills preferably combined with working proficiency French and/or German skills.
