They also cater to the unique business insurance needs of all types and sizes of businesses and in 2010 they expanded into the life insurance market by offering comprehensive death, disability, and critical illness cover as a fully-fledged life insurer too.
The company currently operates across South Africa, Australia & New Zealand, employing over 6000 staff, including 350 in IT/Technology.
Having recently established a new Irish Innovation Hub (South Dublin location) the Group CTO is spearheading the scale out of its new software engineering function and is actively hiring for a Senior UI/Front-End Developer with solid modern Angular skills to join the team.
This is a unique opportunity to join the founding team of an international insurer designing and building complex UI solutions and working across greenfield projects utilising modern Angular in a Microsoft development environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing and developing core modules with a focus on maintainability
- Work effectively as part of a cross-functional agile team
- Help perform code reviews
- Actively invest time in learning better processes, practices, and techniques
- Challenge yourself to keep growing as a developer and document / share your learnings
- Unit and functional test your code
- Work according to guides and best practices of the team
- Have a working understanding of all technologies used within your team
What you need:
- Third-level Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent course
- 4+ years of commercial experience dedicated to developing enterprise-level UI solutions
- Deep experience with modern Angular frameworks (Angular 2+)
- Extensive experience in the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Solid understanding of software design practices
- Preferred exposure to some of the following technologies – JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS/LESS/SASS, HTML5, C#, SQL/ NoSQL DB, Rest APIs, Azure Services, Docker
- Bonus points for Insurance domain experience
