Under the supervision of the Center Director and Center Coordinator, work cooperatively with the classroom teaching team to coordinate the child care program in one classroom for children two months to five years old, and their parents. Maintain program quality, adhering to Title 22 and Title 5 regulations, and accreditation standards for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Complete children's assessments using Desired Results Developmental Progress (DRDP) and other online assessment tools. Maintain a healthy indoor and outdoor environment. Work cooperatively with parents and with supervisory staff to coordinate child care program. Act quickly and appropriately in hazardous situations, providing first aid in emergencies.Percentage of Time:

Ability to speak English to be understood by young children.

Ability to read English text of children's stories and as needed for food preparation.

Ability to write English for preparing written reports on conferences, child observations and staff evaluations.

Ability to plan and implement set-up and supervision of activities and preparation of food.
Required
Ability to use kitchen utensils and appliances safely and appropriately for preparation of snacks.
Can be trained
Ability to relate to children ages two months to five years as required for supervision of indoor and outdoor activities, toileting, meals, snacks and nap time.

Ability to act quickly and appropriately in hazardous situations to prevent accidents and to provide first aid in emergency situations.

Continued employment contingent upon holding the Teacher-level (or higher) permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Bachelor's degree in relevant field strongly preferred.
Preferred
Certified in pediatric CPR and first aid.
Required
Minimum of 175 days relevant experience in infant/preschool classrooms.
Required
For positions in infant classrooms, at least three units of coursework in Infant Development.
