Travel Agent (Remote)

As a Travel Consultant, you are the face of our company. You'll communicate and respond to request for current and new clients, helping them travel smart and achieve more. Do you communicate effortlessly and have customer service at heart? - Read on!

As a Travel Agent, you will

  • Search and confirm travel reservations for the customer
  • Strong understanding of a client travel policy and can consistently provide consultation to the customer
  • Fulfill all requests regarding necessary regulations (DOT, TSA, passports, visas, etc.)
  • Provide the client with the required industry information, such as low fares, exchange costs, and penalties
  • Seek opportunities to review operational processes and commercial relationships with client to provide suggestions for improvement
  • Maintain, actively communicate, and seek expansion of current knowledge of the state of the various travel industries supported

About you

  • Extensive Travel Agent experience
  • Working knowledge of the travel industry, policies, procedures, and processes
  • Advanced skills in GDS Sabre
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Monitor and manage group email inbox (creating Sourcing request folders)
  • Acknowledge, send, and receive Group Travel Request forms
  • Source, receive, and decline hotels offers based on preferred locations and communicate to Global Account Directors for Preferred properties and to Hotel Sales contacts for all other properties
  • Tabulate, organize and communicate hotel offers to the client
  • Confirm requested and selected hotels including contract review and sign off, rooming list, credit card authorization, and confirmation
  • Update Tesla Meeting List with Booking information for tracking and reporting Client Consultation
  • Maintain a complete and thorough understanding of client programs/events and keep abreast of all changes
  • Work within meeting planner to determine sourcing requirements for sleeping rooms, meeting space, and customer budgetary guidelines and advise Meeting Planners of any concerns
  • Manage block space and/or charter manifest, Customer Service
  • Serve as the main contact within the operations team for all participant services related to an event
  • Update and maintain Tesla Meeting List with Sourcing requests for tracking and reporting
  • Respond to requests accurately and completely
  • Work with the fulfillment team to resolve any customer issues before or during an event
  • Proactively work in partnership with the planner to solve the problem and support the traveler as their advocate
  • Escalate all issues to the manager immediately upon awareness and explains steps taken Data Integrity
  • Responsible for Quality Control of meeting data. Follow-up on inconsistencies, missing information, etc
  • Responsible for the organization and maintenance of all meeting files and folders
  • Update Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) as needed
  • Make recommendations for process improvements
