PURPOSE:
To craft textual content for the marketing and communications function, from everything from advertisements to well-researched articles. Doing so by learning about the needs of the RIB business and our customers, assisting in the brainstorming process, generating original content, and assisting in other aspects of the creative process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Focus Areas
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Copy ideation, creation, editing and proof-reading
- · Creating and editing original copy that is accurate, well-researched, and meets RIB’s needs and deadlines.
- · Writing clear, attractive copy with a distinct voice, following the RIB brand style guidelines.
- · Speaking with and interviewing internal and external parties to learn about and unlock our content needs.
- · Executing on content projects as assigned.
- · Reviewing and suggesting improvements for the content written by other internal marketers or writers.
- · Interpreting copywriting briefs to understand project requirements.
- · Editing and proofreading copy as required.
- · Using SEO principles to maximize copy’s reach.
Research and creative support
- · Conducting research to formulate ideas or support writing.
- · Learning about the target audience for copy.
- · Assisting in other aspects of the creative or research processes to create cohesive, accurate content.
Support in content publishing and monitoring
- · Publishing and monitoring content across all channels to track content success, progress and optimization requirements.
- · Giving insights on the content performance.
Collaboration
- · Collaborate with marketers, designers, PR and other professionals on large- and small-scale marketing projects (e.g. email campaigns and landing pages).

- Patience to actively listen and correctly interpret aural information
- Ability to remain cool under pressure and handle stress
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, or related field.
- Previous working experience as a copywriter for 5 year(s)
- Strong and demonstrated writing and typing skills.
- Experience writing copy or with a specific industry, such as engineering and construction or technology, beneficial.
- Ability to understand the needs associated with a project and the target audience.
- Receptive to feedback.
- Willingness to meet deadlines.
- Understanding of SEO and its role in writing engaging, rank-worthy content.
- Strong command of spoken and written English
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Up to R800,000.00 per year
